Notepad Final

Notepad

Project Specs:

My notepad is formatted at 5x7, with black ink only with not bleed. It is padded with a chip board back.  The price per pad is $1.63.  It takes 2-3 days to print the notepads.  The file requested was a PDF.
I got my quote from the Printing Services at Pittsburg State University

Purpose:

Create a self-promotional piece that promotes certain details that pertain to skills I have acquired.

Procedure:

The buttons used at the base of the notepad, are meant to be simple “clickable” buttons to show that I have an emphasis in web design.  Placed inside the buttons are skills that I have.  I placed an illustration of my face at the top to have an image for potential clients to remember me by my individual features.  I used century gothic as my font choice for the website to show that it pertains to the web.  The negative space in my name brings attention so clients will continue to look up to the name. The QR code at the bottom leads the clients to my website where they can view my portfolio.

Photo Assignment 1

To create the gray-scaled photo below I placed the free copyright free istock photo in photoshop and selected the grayscale option.

The Duotone color below is Pantone 110c and black.  This file was created with the duotone feature in Photoshop CS5

This 4 color raster was placed into photoshop and was scaled and cropped to 300 px/in resolution, and was cropped to show a larger portion of the sky and less grass.

The COB below was selected using the wonderful quick selection tool in Photoshop.  This tool made if very easy to select part of the clouds so that I could place the selected portion inside InDesign without any destruction to the original file.
